As someone who has always made a concerted effort to get a Poppy at this time of year and ultimately 'wear it with pride', the recent campaign by the Royal British Legion has really opened my eyes to where the money generated from this campaign goes to. The appeal has always represented a small window for me to donate some cash and help an ageing generation in their time of need and give a little back for the sacrifices they have made in their lives.
This new campaign has really struck a cord with me as I never thought about the younger generation who, for reasons beyond their control, become 'veterans' at an earlier age than they would have expected. Furthermore it went a step further and made me think about the families of those servicemen and women who give their lives for the cause.
In a nutshell it has been a very powerful campaign and I think it has invigorated the whole appeal and I hope it shows a significant return on investment for them!
